Safe for people and planet, clean means that beauty and skin care products should take into account the health of people and the environment, using non-toxic elements as bases and herbal ingredients for effective results.
What Does Green Mean?
The word green means that the product does not harm the environment. For example, reef-safe sunscreens with biodegradable packaging will be labeled green.
What Does Organic Mean?
The majority of certified organic personal care products carry an official organic seal from their country of origin. Singapore currently has no certification body but the USDA is a common organic certification program used for American organic certification. Products bearing an official organic seal must also comply with handling and manufacturing regulations, and GMOs are prohibited. To avoid the use of pesticides, the clean beauty industry has begun to use organic botanical ingredients in products wherever possible.
